Ayatollah Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces attended the graduation ceremony for army cadets at Shahid Sattari Aeronautical University on Wednesday morning, September 28.
During his speech, the Leader of the Revolution highlighted the necessity for the armed forces to increase their “faith and belief with each passing day”, “scientific and technological, as well as logistic and organizational attentiveness”, while conveying the experiences earned during the Holy Defense era to the younger generation of the armed forces. The Leader stressed: “Today the Iranian nation is facing an enormous front of enemies, for it has insisted on observing Islam, independence, its lofty values, as well as belief in the rule of God; hence, the armed forces should always be prepared to play their role–when needed.
His Eminence described the believing, efficient and young forces as the real wealth of the country, pointing to the holy defense era by stating: “The Holy Defense era was a difficult test, wherein the essence of the Islamic Republic of Iran appeared outstanding, as splendid jobs were carried out by the army. The 8-year imposed war was in fact an international war, a full-scale invasion by the super powers, states across the globe and regional powers who obeyed them, attacking Iran’s borders, identity, values, establishment and the revolution of the Iranian nation.” He deemed it necessary for the universities of the armed forces to elaborate on the Holy Defense era and narrate the conditions to the younger generation.
The Leader of the Revolution added: “During this major dilemma, the great nation of Iran and the armed forces relied on the power of faith, resistance and trust in God, while putting their faith in Ruhollah (Imam Khomeini) they rose up and managed to win over all powers”. Addressing the youth he continued, “The generation before you was such an honorable and prideful generation, today you are the better legacy of them.”
Ayatollah Khamenei praised the courage, endeavor, and sacrifice of army generals such as Martyr Sayyad Shirazi and Martyr Babaee holding that, “Today the whole world–friends and foes–acknowledge by words and by heart the grandeur, smartness, courage and power of the Iranian nation and establishment.
Finally the Leader of the Revolution thanked army commanders and the commanders of army universities asserting, “With the help and Grace of God, the future of our country will be a better and more splendid one.”
