Syrian Troops Continue to Advance in Homs to Reach Gates of Deir Ezzur

The Syrian army forces advanced in new areas in Eastern Homs and deployed in regions 8km away from ISIL’s last base, the key town of al-Sukhnah.

The army soldiers regained control of the hills near al-Sukhnah-Tawinan road and imposed control over al-Mujbal region, 8km away from al-Sukhnah, after clashes with the ISIL in Eastern Homs.

A military source said that the Syrian army could win back control of several points near al-Heil energy field and establish security in the region after driving terrorists out of the energy field.

Meantime, the Syrian warplanes launched airstrikes on ISIL moves and positions in Northern al-Shandakhiyeh and Um Tuweini in Job al-Jarah, 73km away from Homs city, blowing up several terrorist bases and their military equipment.

In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Syrian army troops continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines in the depth of the country’s Badiyeh (desert) and managed to impose control over more positions en route to the key town of al-Sukhnah.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL East of al-Heil energy field in Eastern Homs and managed to take back al-Heil gas station.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units shelled heavily ISIL’s positions near al-Sukhnah, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

A military source said that ISIL terrorists are fleeing towards Deir Ezzur after the Russian and Syrian fighter jets intensified airstrikes in Syria’s Badiyeh and destroyed ISIL’s command centers and warehouses.
