Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi will make an official visit to Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.

The Syrian premier will discuss mutual relations and the latest regional developments with Iran’s First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri in Tehran on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, senior Iranian parliamentary official Hossein Sheikholeslam said on Sunday that Speaker of Iraqi Council of Representative Saleem Abdullah al-Jabouri is scheduled to arrive in Tehran on Tuesday.

He added that Jabouri would make the three-day trip at the official invitation of Iran’s parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani.

Sheikholeslam, who serves as an advisor to Iran’s Majlis speaker on international affairs, noted that the Iraqi official would hold meetings with President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other senior Iranian officials.

Iraq has faced brutal violence by ISIL Takfiri terrorists across the country’s north and west since early June. They have been committing heinous crimes in the areas they have taken, including the mass execution of civilians as well as Iraqi army troops and officers.

Violence in Iraq is seen as a spillover of the militancy in neighboring Syria, where militant groups fighting government forces, enjoy the support of a few countries including the US, Britain and their regional allies.
