Syrian Grand Mufti: Syria is fighting terrorism on behalf of the world

Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun said that Syria is fighting international terrorism on behalf of the entire world and is foiling all U.S.- western schemes.
During his meeting with head of the Central Committee for the Russian Communist Party, Gennady Zyuganov in Moscow on Tuesday, Hassoun said that the West is trying to punish Syria for its independent policy and stances.
He stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has foiled the attempts to make Russia a subordinate country that depends on the West, expressing thanks to the Russian people for their support to Syria.
In turn, Zyuganov said Russia will always back the Syrian people and will continue to provide support to them.
