The Syrian government has sent a humanitarian aid convoy to the city of Tell Aran in the Aleppo Province.

The convoy of 21 trucks distributed to the people much-needed supplies, including food, medicine, and bottled water.

Over 2,000 families have reportedly returned to Tell Aran since the Syrian army regained control of the city last November.

The branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Aleppo delivered the convoy to the citizens in cooperation with the delegation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Syria.

Governor of Aleppo Mohammad Wahid Akkad said that humanitarian aid delivery proves that the Syrian government commits its responsibility towards every citizen.

Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein has said that more than 200,000 people have died in the Syrian conflict since March 2011.
