Syrian Army Tightens Siege on ISIL in Hama Province

The Syrian army continued its military operations in Eastern Hama, and took control of a strategic village there.

The army units took control of Masoud village in Eastern Hama from the ISIL after several hours of clashes with the terrorists.

A military source disclosed that the ISIL terrorists had fled to Masour village after the Syrian army liberated the town of Aqyrbat. The source noted that heavy clashes are currently underway in Eastern Hama, saying that the army troops killed several terrorists and destroyed their military vehicles as well as ammunition.

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets, meantime, heavily pounded ISIL’s military positions and movements in the al-Hardaneh village and the depth of Eastern Badiyeh (desert), killing tens of terrorists and destroying their military vehicles.

In a relevant development on Monday, the Syrian army continued its military operations in Eastern Hama and managed to capture a strategic power station in Salamiyeh region after heavy clashes with the terrorists.

Salba power station in Salamiyeh region is now under the full control of the Syrian army.

Meantime, the Syrian army is now very close to imposing control over the entire Eastern Hama as very limited areas are still under the control of the ISIL.

Also on Sunday, the Syrian Army troops carried out an ambush operation against ISIL in Eastern Hama and repelled a heavy attack of Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in the Southern part of the province, inflicting major casualties on the terrorists on Sunday.

The army’s elite forces ambushed a group of ISIL terrorists in Wadi al-Azib region in Eastern Hama, killing the entire members of the group and seizing their arms and ammunition.

Also the army soldiers fended off a heavy offensive of Al-Nusra terrorists deployed in Hirbnafsa at the thermal power plant in Southern Hama, killing and wounding a number of rebels.

Relevant reports said on Saturday that the army units, backed up by the country’s Air Force, repelled ISIL’s attacks to win back lost positions, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The army men fended off ISIL’s offensives on the two towns of Jarouh and Hamadi Omar in Eastern Hama, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

Also, the army aircraft pounded ISIL’s movements in Jarouh and Hamadi Omar regions, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their military equipment.

Only a few villages in Eastern Hama are still under the control of the ISIL, field reports said, adding that rapid advances of the army and popular forces will soon end ISIL’s presence in the province.
