Syrian Army resumes offensive in east Homs, captures large hilltop

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive operations in the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate, Thursday, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions near the town of Jubab Hamad.

Led by the 11th Tank Division and 5th Corps, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the large hilltop of Tal Al-‘Alam, which overlooks Jubab Hamad from its eastern axis.

Within two hours of launching the attack, the Syrian Arab Army imposed full control over Tal Al-‘Alam; thus, securing the town of Jubab Hamad in east Homs this afternoon.

In the coming days, the Syrian Arab Army is expected to kick-off a new operation in the eastern countryside Salamiyah, which will target ISIL’s last positions between the Hama and Homs governorates.
