The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their military operations in the Deir Ezzor countryside, today, liberating several areas that were occupied by the Islamic State (ISIS).

Led by their 5th Legion, the Syrian Army was able to expand on their territorial gains from yesterday by seizing many points near the desert towns of Al-Fayzah and Al-Tamah.

The Syrian Army was given a big boost from their Russian allies, who repeatedly bombarded the Islamic State’s positions inside the vast Badiya region that stretches from eastern Homs to western Deir Ezzor.

Similar to their other battles against the Islamic State, the Syrian Army is currently working to split this large pocket and isolate the Islamic State forces from one another.
