The Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with contingents from the National Defense Forces and Hezbollah has captured the strategic Al-Mahaadhiyyeh Orchards located near the imperative villages of Sa’sa and Hassnou on the border of the Al-Quneitra and Rif Dimashq Governorates in southwest Syria.

The SAA attack on Al-Mahadhiyyeh Orchards was conducted around 7 A.M. on Wednesday morning and lasted for almost 8 hours before the militants from the Al-Nusra Front (Jabhat Al-Nusra) withdrew from their positions in this rural area. According to a military source, at least 15 militants from the Al-Nusra Front were killed during this operation, including ‘Ammar Mohammad Al-‘Ismaa’eel, “Abu Baraa’ Al-Jazrawi” (Saudi), Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Sinawi, and ‘Abdel-Lateef ‘Ali Al-Khaled.

The success at Al-Mahadhiyyeh has led to the SAA’s advance towards the imperative village of Sa’sa; if captured, could lead to the counter-offensive in the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
