The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) 11th Tank Division managed to foil another powerful assault conducted by Jund Al-Aqsa (Al-Qaeda franchise) at the Khattab Military Base on Wednesday morning after several hours fighting in the northern Hama countryside.

Hours after recapturing the village of Khattab from the jihadist rebels, the Syrian Armed Forces found themselves under attack once again by the jihadist rebels.

According to a field report from northern Hama, the Syrian Armed Forces beat back the jihadist assault, killing a large number of militants from Jund Al-Aqsa and Faylaq Al-Sham.

Meanwhile, west of Khattab, the jihadist rebels stormed government-controlled Souran, resulting in the capture of several barriers outside the village.

The jihadist rebels are now inside Souran; however, government sources deny that the village has fallen to Jund Al-Aqsa and their allies.
