Syrian Army breaks into eastern Hajar Al-Aswad as ISIS faces encirclement

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), supported by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Palestinian forces, scored another big advance in southern Damascus, today, liberating several areas in eastern Hajar Al-Aswad.

Led by the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army managed to break into eastern Hajar Al-Aswad this afternoon, following an intense battle with the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists in the area.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army was able to break into eastern Hajar Al-Aswad after securing Younis Hospital and the nearby communication center, forcing ISIS to frantically retreat.

This advance by the Syrian Army and their allies is part of the first phase of the high command’s plan to encircle the Islamic State inside Hajar Al-Aswad.
