The Syrian army continued its advances in Idlib in the Northwestern parts of the Muslim country to regain control of the strategic region of Khan Sheikhoun in there.
The army units started fresh military operations in the Southern parts of Idlib countryside, including mainly in Khan Sheikhoun, FNA dispatches said.

The Syrian army’s infantry units began their operations today while the artillery units of the army had started their mortar and rocket attacks on militants’ positions on Tuesday.

Khan Sheikoun is strategically important because the terrorists’ supply route from Turkey passes through there.

Earlier today, the army soldiers stormed the hideouts of the rebels in the areas of Hersh Eshtabraq, Khirbet Selya, Qmeinat, al-Dabouleh and Fayloun, killing and injuring a large number of them in the Northern province of Idlib.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against both the army and civilians.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
