Syria in Past 24 Hours: Army Finds Traces of White Helmets’ Chemical Sites in Eastern Ghouta

The Syrian army troops found uniforms of members of the White Helmets Organization and several license plates registered in Saudi Arabia in terrorists’ chemical workshops in Eastern Ghouta region, media reports disclosed on Wednesday.

Damascus

The Arabic-language website of Sputnik reported that the army men have discovered the White Helmets’ uniforms and gas-protected masks in terrorists’ chemical bomb-making laboratories in Eastern Ghouta.

Also, an army unit that was carrying out mop-up operation in Douma found a large volume of chemicals and several Saudi-registered license plates.

A military source said that the army is now in possession of reliable evidence to prove the accusations by the western states that the army has conducted a chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta were sheer lies.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army and Air Force started to target terrorists’ positions in Eastern Qalamoun in the Northeastern part of Damascus province after militants refused to join the reconciliation agreement and opened fire at the government forces.

Jeish al-Islam announced in a statement that they have refused to join talks with the Russian forces over a ceasefire and reconciliation agreement in Eastern Qalamoun.

The terrorists further opened fire at the peace negotiating committee in Jayroud region in Eastern Qalamoun, injuring some of the committee members.

Also, the terrorists of Jeish Tahrir al-Sham and Ahmad Abdu terrorist groups stormed the army positions in al-Muhassa region.

Later, the army’s artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ centers in Mount al-Batra in Eastern Qalamoun and regions near the town of al-Nasiriyeh.

In the meantime, the army aircraft launch heavy airstrikes on terrorists’ positions in al-Jabal region in Eastern Qalamoun.

Also on Wednesday, the Syrian army bomb disposal squads have found ammunition depots and production plants left by militants in Douma.

Sputnik quoted a military source as saying that advanced and modern equipment, required for producing ammunition for mortars and missiles have been found in the basements of many houses.

The Syrian military has revealed that while clearing buildings in the liberated Douma, several HQs and ammo depots, filled with armaments and corresponding ammunition have been found.

“This means that militants have violated a treaty struck with the army, that they would surrender their weapons in exchange for a free exit from Douma,” the military source said.

He also added that some of the headquarters were booby-trapped, but noted that bomb squads had done their job and no one was hurt.

The militants’ HQs were equipped with modern radio and space communication means, the military source said.

Aleppo

The Turkish Army troops and Ankara-backed terrorists have started an assault on the outskirts of the occupied town of Afrin in Northwestern Aleppo to hunt the Kurdish fighters that are carrying out sporadic attacks against them, militant-affiliated websites reported.

The news websites reported that the Turkish soldiers and their allied militants have kicked off a fresh round of operation against the Kurds in a mountainous region, including Mound Hassan Dayereh, between Bolbol and Rajou region North of Afrin.

The websites further said that the Turkish troops’ operation is aimed at putting an end to the Kurdish fighters’ sporadic attacks on the Ankara forces, adding that tens of Kurdish militias are still operating in the region.

They went on to say that the Kurdish fighters have been launching surprise attacks on the Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army in Afrin region, and inflicted tens of casualties on the militants so far.

Also in the past 24 hours, more that 100 militants have been killed in clashes between Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) and Syria’s Tahrir Front in Aleppo and Idlib provinces in recent days, field sources reported.

The sources said that Tahrir al-Sham and Syria’s Tahrir Front continued their clashes in the villages of Ajel and al-Sa’adiyeh in Western Aleppo.

In the meantime, the two rival terrorist groups exchanged heavy fire near Tal Aas and its nearby regions in Southern Idlib, the sources added.

Heavy infighting among terrorists in Southern Idlib has cut off a road connecting Khan Sheikhoun and al-Habit regions, the sources went on to say.

Also on Wednesday, Jeish al-Islam terrorist group handed over its heavy weapons to the Syrian Army troops within the framework of an agreement to leave al-Dumayr region for the town of Jarabulus in Northern Syria.

Jeish al-Islam terrorists have delivered their heavy weapons and military hardware, including five armored vehicles, BMP vehicles, missile launching pads and cannons to the army following an evacuation agreement that allows militants to leave al-Dumayr for Jarabulus in Northeastern Aleppo.

In the meantime, a sum of 1,500 Jeish al-Islam militants along with 3,500 family members are to leave al-Dumayr for Jarabulus.

Those militants that do not want to be relocated to Jarabulus are allowed to apply for government amnesty.

Idlib

People in a region in Southern Idlib engaged in heavy fighting with Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at on Wednesday after the terrorist group arrested several locals.

Tens of people in the village of Kafr Sajna in Southern Idlib demonstrated against Tahrir al-Sham and cut off the roads to the village after the terrorist group stormed their village.

Tahrir al-Sham stormed Kafr Sajna and detained several villagers on charges of affiliation to Syria’s Tahrir front that ended in eruption of clashes between the residents and Tahrir al-Sham terrorists.

Also on Wednesday, the Syrian army and Air Force pounded the strongholds of Al-Nusra Front in Southern and Eastern Idlib, destroying several bases of terrorists.

The army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at the Al-Nusra’s positions and movements in the village of Qatra near al-Nu’aman and also in Um Jalal region in Southeastern Idlib, inflicting major losses on the militants.

The army aircraft also conducted a heavy bombing on the strongholds of Tahrir al-Sham and other terrorist groups in Ma’ar Zita and Ma’ar Harma in Southern Idlib.

Local sources reported that several command posts and vital positions of terrorists were destroyed and a number of militants were killed or wounded in the attacks.

Hasaka

The Kurdish fighters on Wednesday boosted their defense capabilities in their positions along the border of Syria’s Hasaka province and Turkey as war is raving between Ankara’s army and the Kurds.

The Kurdish fighters reinvigorated their strongholds near the town of Tal Halaf West of the town of Ra’as al-Ein in Northern Hasaka at the border with Turkey.

The Kurdish militias have dug long tunnels along the border as well as long trenches around the border passageway and near the silos of the town of Ra’as al-Ein.

The Kurdish militants have also recently received a number prefabricated cement rooms made by the US-led coalition forces that they plan to place in a region between the town of Ra’as al-Ein in Hasaka and the town of Tal Abyadh in Northern Raqqa near the border with Turkey.

Military analysts believe that the move by the Kurdish militias is in line with the US plan to create Kurdish border guards in Syria.

As was is ravaging between the two sides in Northwestern Syria, tensions are at the highest between the Turkish troops and the Kurdish fighters in the North-East and sporadic clashes have been reported between the two at the border.

Raqqa

The Syrian Army troops uncovered a mass grave in Raqqa countryside on Wednesday with over 150 bodies believed to be executed by the ISIL terrorists.

The army discovered the mass grave in the town of al-Wawai in Western Raqqa.

The mass grave contained over 150 bodies of army soldiers and civilians that were executed by the ISIL when the region was under the terrorist group’s control.
