The Syrian army thwarted an attempt by the foreign-backed militants to gain control of the Air Force’s Intelligence Center in Aleppo city.
The foreign-backed terrorist groups, including Al-Nusra Front and the Free Syrian Army, were pushed back as they sustained heavy casualties in their failed attack.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army targeted the al-Nusra terrorists’ concentration centers on the barrens of Flita in Qalamoun in Damascus countryside, killing more than 20 militants and injuring over 30 others.

The Syrian army also targeted al-Nusra sites in the area and destroyed more than 5 vehicles of the terrorists.

The Syrian warplanes struck a terrorist convoy on Flita barrens inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.

Media reports mentioned that al-Nusra commander in Qalamoun Abu Malek al-Talle was among the targeted terrorists.

Elsewhere, the Syrian military units gained the upper hand over Takfiri armed groups in Kfar Najed, Abu Dahour, Nahla, Kifr Haya and Binnesh areas in the countryside of Idlib, as the army made gains in its operations against the Takfiri groups.

Meantime, the Syrian troops continued their fight against the militants in Deir Ezzur, and claimed the lives of scores of them in Hweijet Sakir, al-Hawiqa, al-Sina’a and Ganamat.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against both the army and civilians.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
