The Syrian army troops repelled the Al-Nusra Front terrorist group’s attacks on their positions in Hama province, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.
The Al-Nusra Front’s attacks to capture the government forces’ positions near the town of al-Zara in Hama province were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Damascus and Aleppo, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in Syria’s key provinces.

Hama

The al-Nusra Front militants’ attack on a key power plant near the town of al-Zara, South of Hama province, was repulsed by the Syrian army and National Defense forces on Thursday.

The terrorists who had launched an attack to regain control of the recently-lost power plant in Zara were forced to withdraw after losing 30 of their comrades and sustaining heavy damages.

According to field sources, tens of other militants were also wounded.

Zara power plant was liberated from the terrorists’ hands in May. Since then the militants have launched several attacks to seize it back but failed.

Earlier on Thursday in Hama, the Syrian army, supported by the popular forces, seized back control of the most important regions and heights in Badiya region, pushing the fleeing ISIL terrorists to the deeper points.

The Syrian army’s advance was made in the most important triangle in Central Syria which includes the Eastern parts of Hama, the Western parts of Raqqa and the Northern parts of Homs while the ISIL has not yet succeeded in opening a supply route in the region.

Also, field sources said that the ISIL has started its attacks in the region since one month ago and members of the terrorist group have concentrated in Aqirabat, Abu Hanaya and Qabibat villages which have common borders with Tal al-Tout, Aqarib, Eastern Berry and Western Berry villages.

They added that the Syrian army has retaken the highly strategic districts in the region which are considered as a key along with Tal al-Tout heights to monitor tens of kilometers of regions in which forces, artillery and machineguns are deployed.

The sources said that the ISIL was trying to gain control of Tal al-Tout region near the dense forests to be able to hide, but the army could purge the terrorists of the large forest without sustaining any damages and toll.

They added that tens of terrorists were killed in the heights of the region and the vehicles of those who were trying to flee, were destroyed. The army also seized a large number of chests full of machineguns and bombs from the militants.

Damascus

The Syrian army regained control of one of the terrorists’ most important strongholds in the city of Douma in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus after killing tens of Takfiri militants and injuring dozens more.

The Syrian army’s special units fully liberated the strategic town of Housh al-Farah, located 6km of Eastern Douma and in the Western side of the key town of Mide’a.

A field source said on Thursday that the army attacked Housh al-Farah town from Mide’a side and killed tens of terrorists who had arrived in Douma to repel the army’s attacks and prevent the city’s fall (which is considered as one of Jeish al-Islam terrorist group’s main strongholds). The remaining terrorists fled to the adjacent farms.

The source added that liberation of Housh al-Farah paves the ground for surrounding the terrorists in Tal al-Kurdi and the nearby areas.

Aleppo

Syria’s state-run TV announced minutes ago that all plants and buildings located in Lairamoun industrial zone in Northern Aleppo were retaken from the terrorist groups.

“All building blocks, firms and factories in al-Lairamoun industrial zone in Northern Aleppo province have come under the Syrian government forces’ control,” the al-Akhbariya TV quoted a military source as saying on Thursday.

“The Syrian army completed its military operations to establish security in Aleppo and could retake control of Afrin and Youth Housing areas as well as all buildings and workshops of Lairamoun,” he added.

Before the state declaration of the full liberation of Lairamoun on Thursday, the Syrian army units and their popular allies seized full control of the strategic town of Bani Zeid in the Eastern parts of Aleppo on Thursday.

Immediately after the development, the engineering units of the Syrian army started demining operations in squares and streets of Bani Zeid.

Field sources reported that the terrorists in the region have badly lost their morale and tens of them have surrendered themselves and their weapons to the governmental forces.

Purging Bani Zeid and Youth Housing regions from the terrorists, the Syrian and resistance forces will now complete the siege on militants in the Eastern parts of Aleppo and their supply routes will be fully cut.

Homs

The Syrian army units, supported by their allies, killed tens of al-Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham terrorists, including their commanders and snipers, in al-Rastan, 20km of Northern Homs.

The army troops’ precision missile strikes targeted the terrorists’ dens and gathering centers in Rastan, and killed and wounded dozens of them.

Among the commanders of al-Nusra Front was Amin Samir al-Ruz, nom de guerre Abi Malik who was killed in Rastan along with his 8-member group.

The Syrian army units also killed ISIL terrorists and destroyed their vehicles, equipped with heavy machineguns North al-Awameed hill and West al-Khanzeer Mountain, Southeast of Quaryatayn in the Eastern parts of Homs province.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian warplanes attacked ISIL positions and moves in al-Balaqiya and Ayash regions in the Western parts of Deir Ezzur, inflicting heavy damages and killing a large number of militants.

The air force also launched several attacks against the terrorists’ gathering centers in al-Rushdiya and al-Hawiqa districts in Deir Ezzur; concurrently, the army targeted the militants near al-Tharda mountain in Southeastern Deir Ezzur with heavy artillery fire, killing and wounding tens of them.

The Syrian army also launched an offensive against the two ISIL hideouts in Panorama and al-Jafar regions in Southwestern Deir Ezzur, destroying both and killing all militants inside.

Simultaneous with the attack, the Syrian air force targeted several ISIL positions in Hawija al-Sukr, al-Jafra and al-Mura’yeh in the Eastern parts of Deir Ezzur.

The Syrian air force destroyed ISIL positions and vehicles East of al-Jafra, al-Tharda, and Tal Brouk in Deir Ezzur province, a military source said on Thursday.

Quneitra

The Syrian army units, in cooperation with popular forces, launched heavy strikes on the gatherings and fortified positions of al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front militants in the countryside of Quneitra.

Field sources said on Thursday that the attacks have killed tens of al-Nusra Front militants and wounded several others.

Also, one of al-Nusra Front sites and a heavy-equipped vehicle belonging to the terrorist group were destroyed in the villages of al-Kahtanya and Rasm al-Bida to the Southwest of al-Baath City, the sources added.
