Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Makes New Gains in Aleppo

The Syrian army continued its mop-up operations in Eastern and Southeastern Aleppo by purging terrorists from key villages and regions.

The army units took back several new villages in Eastern and Southeastern Aleppo and paved their way for making more gains.

The Syrian troops killed several terrorists and injured many more in fierce clashes over controlling of strategic regions. They also destroyed military equipment of the terrorists.

The Syrian army also continued its advances in other key provinces across Syria.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army troops continued their advances against ISIL in different battlefields in Eastern and Southeastern Aleppo, taking control of several villages and regions and inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The army soldiers continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines in Eastern Aleppo and recaptured the villages of al-Qora and al-Bandouqeh and al-Sukri’yeh livestock ranching farm.

The army men also drove ISIL out of Maskana train station and Masaken al-Mahateh, killing and wounding a number of them.

In the meantime, the army units stormed ISIL’s defense lines near al-Jaboul lake and took control over several villages.

A military sources said that the army is now in full control over al-Jaboul lake and its surroundings, adding that the army forces that were advancing against terrorists in Eastern Aleppo have shaken hands with their comrades in Southern Aleppo along Khanasser road to Ithriya.

Deir Ezur

The Syrian Army forces engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL and repelled their attacks on different regions and neighborhoods in Deir Ezzur, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The army soldiers engaged in clashes with the ISIL fighters that tried to prevail over their positons in Tal Barouk region and fended off their attack, killing a number of terrorists and destroying one of their military vehicles.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at ISIL’s movements in areas surrounding Deir Ezzur military airport, gas filed, Tal (hill) al-Mahrouqat and West of Tal (hill) al-Sonouf, repelling their attacks and killing a number of the terrorists.

Field sources also reported that the army units started heavy exchange of fire with ISIL West of Tal al-Senobar in Deir Ezzur, killing or wounding a number of the terrorists.

Sweida

The Syrian Army troops continued to hit terrorist groups’ positions in Eastern Badiyeh (desert) and seized control over several key areas.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists in al-Bohouth al-Elmiyeh region in Eastern Badiyeh of Sweida and pushed militants out of more regions.

The army units also started battle with terrorists in the Southeastern direction of Tal (hill) al-Zalaf, killing a number of militants.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at the positions of a group of ISIL terrorists in Northeastern Sweida along a road connecting the two towns of Rajm al-Dowleh and Sabreh Olya, killing the entire members of the group.

Military sources confirmed earlier on Sunday that the army troops continued their advances against terrorists in Eastern Sweida towards the key al-Tanf border-crossing with Iraq, adding that a US army drone was also targeted by the army men.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists and managed to capture the Mahjoureh (missile) Battalion base Northwest of Zaza region 11km away from Sweida Badiyeh.

A military source reported, meantime, that the army forces after advancing in the missile battalion region managed to drive terrorists out of several hills in areas surrounding the al-Bohouth al-Elmiyeh region that covers an area of 5sq\km.

The source also said that the Syrian soldiers downed a US drone over Badiyeh region in Zaza.

Idlib

Websites affiliated to the terrorist groups disclosed on Sunday that a fresh round of clashes has started between two main rival groups in Idlib province in Northwestern Syria.

The sources said that Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board) stormed one of the positions of Faylaq al-Sham in the town of Ma’ara Shourin on the pretext that the targeted region was a land between the territories ruled by the two sides.

The sources said that all forces of Faylaq al-Sham and Tahrir al-Sham in the region have gone on alert after the clashes.

A commander of Faylaq al-Sham also warned that his forces will give a crushing response to any aggression by Tahrir al-Sham.

Damascus

The terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta shelled the Syrian Army’s strongholds near Dhahiyeh al-Assad district, violating de-escalation zones agreement, local sources said.

The sources said that the army troops opened retaliatory fire at terrorists’ positons in Douma after the latter fired over 20 mortar shells at government forces’ positions in Dhahiyeh al-Assad district.

Hama

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units shelled heavily ISIL’s movements and positions North-East of Hama province, destroying a vehicle carrying a large volume of weapons and munitions.

The artillery and missile units pounded ISIL’s concentration centers in Wadi al-Azib region near the town of al-Salamiyah, destroying a vehicle with a large volume of arms and ammunition.

Several motorbikes of the ISIL were destroyed and a number of its members were killed in the attack.

The army also seized a large volume of ISIL’s arms and ammunition.

Military sources reported that the army forces are to cut off ISIL’s vital route connecting Wadi al-Azib to the villages in Idlib province to block their supply path in the region.
