Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Inflicts Heavy Losses on ISIL Terrorists in Hama Province

The Syrian army hit hard the terrorists’ military positions and hardware in different parts of Hama province.

The terrorists in Hama province sustained heavy losses in tough battle with the Syrian army.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Homs and Aleppo, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in Syria’s key provinces.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops’ heavy attacks inflicted major losses on ISIL and other terrorist groups in different parts of Hama province.

The army’s artillery units targeted terrorists’ positions in al-Latamina and Kafr Zita in Northern Hama, killing and wounding several militants.

The army men also stormed terrorists’ defense lines in Eastern Hama and managed to capture several positions in areas surrounding the village of al-Dakileh al-Shamali East of the town of al-Saboureh.

In the meantime, the army stormed ISIL’s strongholds West of the village of Jub al-Mazari’a East of the town of al-Salamiyah, killing eight terrorists and destroying two machinegun-equipped vehicles.

Also, the Syrian Army soldiers along with the National Defense Forces (NDF), backed up by the Russian Air Force, advanced against ISIL in Eastern Hama.

The army men and their allies stormed ISIL’s defense lines and liberated new positions and hilltops East of the government-controlled town of al-Sabbourah, reaching the outskirts of the ISIL-held town of al-Dakilah al-Shamaliyah.

Moreover, a large number of pro-government reinforcements have just arrived in Eastern Hama to take part in an imminent offensive to drive ISIL out of the region.

According to military sources, the ISIL-held town is expected to be ceded by the terrorist group to the Syrian Army soon since the pro-government forces have established fire control over it.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops stormed ISIL’s defense lines in Eastern Homs and deployed only 5km away from the key town of al-Sukhnah.

The army units and the popular forces have expanded control to areas surroundings the al-Sukhnah gas field only five kilometers South-East of the town of al-Sukhnah.

The recent advances of the army were materialized two months after imposing control over ISIL-held regions in Eastern Qalamoun and Khneifis region.

Al-Sukhnah is the most important town along the road to Deir Ezzur.

The army’s steady advances in the regions near Arak and al-Heil oil fields enable the pro-government forces to capture more key heights South and North-West of al-Sukhnah.

The army, now, needs to capture Tantour heights West of al-Sukhnah to impose control over the Southwestern entrance of the town.

Raqqa

The Syrian Army troops managed to impose control over two key towns South-East of Raqqa province after hours of non-stop clashes with ISIL terrorists and deployed only 70km away from the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur.

The army men drove ISIL out of the towns of Rajm al-Soleiman and al-Kharaz and laid siege on the last center of the terrorist group in Southeastern Raqqa.

The army soldiers are now near the town of Ma’adan in Deir Ezzur.

The Arabic-language Anab news website affiliated to opposition groups reported that the army units deployed only 70km away from Deir Ezzur city.

The tribal forces that are fighting ISIL along with army units entered the village of Shanan between the towns of al-Akereshi and Ma’adan along the road that connects Raqqa to Deir Ezzur two days ago.

The army men also liberated the town of al-Dahleh and laid siege on Ma’adan.

Deir Ezzur-Damascus

The Syrian Air Force carried out several rounds of combat flights over the movements and positions of ISIL and Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in the provinces of Deir Ezzur and Damascus.

The fighter jets pounded ISIL’s concentration centers and movements in Panorama base, Regiment 137 base, al-Maqaber (cemetery) region, Raqqa bridge, Ein Abu Jom’ah checkpoint and Konico oilfield desert, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Meantime, the army aircraft bombed heavily the positons of Al-Nusra in areas surrounding Eastern and Northern Otaya along a road connecting Otaya to Hawsh Salehiyeh farms in Eastern Ghouta, killing and wounding a number of militants.

Aleppo

The Turkish army and its affiliated militants lost 16 troops after they launched attack on the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Northern Aleppo on Thursday.

Kurdish news agencies reported that the Turkish army and Ankara-backed militants attacked SDF forces in three directions and started clashes with the Kurdish troops in the villages and towns of Sheikh Halal, Ain Daqneh, Tal Rafat, Sheikh Issa, Harbal, Samouqeh, near al-Shahba dam, Tal Maziq and Halasbeh.

The concurrent missile, mortar and artillery attacks on the villages resulted in fierce clashes between the two sides, Hawar news reported.

At least 16 Turkish soldiers and its affiliated militants were killed in heavy clashes with SDF fighters, added the report by Hawar news.
