Syrian Kurdish fighters gained the upper-hand against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) Takfiri terrorists in the town of Kobani and they are now almost in full control over the border town.
The People’s Protection Units (YPG) fighting for over four months against ISIL are now in control of 90 percent of Kobani.

The Kurdish fighter killed at least 58 ISIL terrorists on Thursday.

The Kurdish fighters have seized control of the area after fierce clashes since Sunday night.

Earlier this week, in a series of attacks on the ISIL positions in the Syrian border town of Kobani, Kurdish forces also managed to retake the city’s industrial zone from the Takfiri militants and build a defense line.

The YPG fighters attacked the zone that lies in the Northern part of the town on Friday and expelled the militants who had been positioned there for three months.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army made major advances in its fight against the Takfiri groups operating in the Arab country, killing and injuring scores of militants in Idlib province.

The army soldiers stormed the hideouts of the terrorists in the areas of Qarfaya, al-Akrad Mountain, Baksariya, al-Hoteh, Qara’a al-Ghazal, Kafr Shalaya, and the surroundings of al-Arbayeen Mountain in Idlib, leaving a large number of them dead and injured.

Meanwhile, the militants suffered major losses in the areas of Daraa al-Balad, Ataman, Dama and al-Mismyeh in Daraa countryside, when the army intensified its attack on them.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army expanded its offensives against armed groups in nearby areas of Homs province, claiming the lives of a large number of Takfiri militants.

The army soldiers stormed the gathering centers of the militants in the areas of Oum Suhairij, Salam Sharki, al-Rastan, al-Hilaliye, and al-Badu in Homs, and inflicted heavy casualties on the Takfiri groups.

Also, the Syrian soldiers clashed with the rebels in the areas of al-Maryaiye, al-Jbeila, al-Hweiqa, al-Rasafa, al-Orfa and Huwaijet Saker in Deir Ezzur province, where a great number of the militants lost their lives.

Elsewhere, the Takfiri terrorists destroyed a shrine of a Sunni cleric built in the 13th century in the city of Nawa, Southwestern Syria.

The terrorists detonated powerful explosives, damaging large parts of the religious monument. The shrine belonged to Imam Nawawi, a prominent Islamic scholar.

The group has previously damaged other religious sites in different Syrian cities, including Aleppo, Homs and Deir Ezzur.

The Syrian Army and government have defended their country against insurgents since 2011 when a huge number of foreign terrorists flocked to the Middle-Eastern country.

In spite of certain western states’ military and financial supports for militants, the Syrian troops have been able to push them back from many areas across the country, and based on military observers the fall of militancy in Syria is not far.
