Syria’s army has made fresh gains in its fight against the terrorists with the Takfiri ISIL group in the south and north of the country.

The army units killed scores of terrorists in clashes in several locations across the southwestern province of Quneitra.

Syrian soldiers also repelled an attack by the terrorists, who tried to make advances in the Quneitra countryside. Army sources said a militant leader was killed in an assault on terrorist hideouts in the region.

Meanwhile, army forces pushed back militants from two areas of the Qamishli region in the northeastern province of Hasakah. Dozens of ISIL Takfiri militants were killed in the clashes.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 200,000 people, according to reports.

The ISIL terrorists control some parts of Syria and Iraq. They are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control. ISIL militants have terrorized and killed people of all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.
