Spokesman: Baghdad Displeased with Int’l Coalition’s So-Called War on ISIL

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s Spokesman Saad Hadithi underlined his country’s dissatisfaction with the international coalition’s weak performance in campaign against the ISIL terrorist group.
“The Iraqi government believes that international efforts to prevent ISIL’s penetration into the country are insufficient,” Hadithi told FNA on Thursday.

He stressed the necessity for the international community to act upon its undertakings and vows about fighting the ISIL, and said, “The Iraqi government’s assessments show that the anti-ISIL coalition efforts have not been enough since the terrorists are still infiltrating Iraq and their number has not reduced.”

Barry Grossman, an international Canadian lawyer, believes that the creation of the Coalition of Absurd (the so-called anti-ISIL coalition) by the US and its allies is just a smokescreen to divert attention from Washington’s vicious plans to safeguard its interests in the Middle East by attempting to destroy Syria, get Iran involved in a confrontation and destabilize Iraq.

“NATO also has no mandate or legitimate interest which justifies direct military involvement in Iraq and Syria at this point. Moreover, the US-led alliance is entirely ill-conceived. Coalition member countries are clearly proceeding on a premise which exposes their illegitimate agenda as being about anything but helping countries with a direct stake in the problems created by the largely foreign imposed insurgency clean up the mess. Instead of starting with an internationally-sanctioned and unbiased inquiry into the problem with a mandate to consider all available options for a genuine solution, this Coalition of the Absurd is little more than a US directed Vaudeville performance played out to cover an a priori decision to obliterate Syria and, if possible, draw Iran into a conflict while still further destabilizing Iraq,” said Grossman in an exclusive interview with Fars News Agency in December.

He further said that the US is making all-out efforts to disintegrate the Middle East in an attempt to look after its national security interests, stressing that the US has never been committed to stopping the ISIL or other Takfiri groups in the region.
