President al-Assad: Targeting teachers and schools reveals reality of those who are waging war on Syria

20140321-003302On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, President Bashar al-Assad and Mrs. Asmaa al-Assad received a number of teachers who were threatened by the armed terrorist groups but continued fulfilling their teaching duties.
President al-Assad congratulated the teachers on their day and hailed the great sacrifices offered by the educational sector in Syria during the crisis, considering targeting teachers and schools as revealing the reality of those who are waging the war on Syria and proving that the Syrians are involved in a war against ignorance and obscurantism which pose threat to the Syrian society and the upcoming generations.
The President pointed out that the steadfastness of the Syrian people with all their spectrums, particularly teachers, is one of the most important elements for protecting Syria.
President al-Assad lauded the courage of the teachers who were not terrified by the threats of the armed terrorist groups and who were aware, through their high national and humanitarian feelings, that those who threatened them want to stop the educational cycle in Syria through preventing students from receiving knowledge and drowning them into the darkness of ignorance, so they insisted to continue their mission and serve their homeland.
For her part, Mrs. Asmaa al-Assad asserted that the role of teachers after the crisis is no less important than it is during the crisis and they shoulder the responsibility, along with the family, of spreading awareness to the upcoming generations and raising them in the right way and protect them from ignorance.
President al-Assad and Mrs. Al-Assad exchanged talks with the teachers who stressed, like others from Syria’s sons, that they will continue fulfilling their duties and confronting terrorism and ignorance whatever the threats were.
The teachers thanked President al-Assad and Mrs. Al-Assad for the great attention they pay to education and knowledge.
