People of occupied Syrian Golan celebrate 51st anniversary of March 8th Revolution

20140308-172652People of the occupied Syrian Arab Golan celebrated Saturday the 51st anniversary of the Glorious March 8th revolution and the27th anniversary of the martyrdom of Golanese heroine , Ghalia Farhat.

Participants in the celebration which was held in the village of Bukatha, expressed pride in the achievements of March 8th revolution which built the modern Syria, stressing Syria’s ability of steadfastness in face of the internationally-led war, adding that what was established by late President Hafez al-Assad and consolidated by President Bashar al-Assad has proven to the whole world that Syria will never be defeated and will have victory soon.

On the occasion of Martyr Farhat, the participants stressed that although 27 years have passed since she was martyred, they will never forgive and the message of martyrdom is still going in their veins.

The participants laid wreaths on the tomb of the martyr, raising photos of President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian Arab flag.

Martyr Farhat was injured during her participation in a national protest against the Israeli occupation in 1987 and she was escorted on March 12, 1987 with the participation of thousands of the Golan people.

In the same context, women of the occupied Syrian Golan issued a statement on the occasion of the Women’s Day saying, “On this occasion, we can only stand in appreciation of the great women and mothers of the homeland,” adding that a new dawn will come.
