Palmyra: ISIL Suffers Heavy Casualties in Attack on Syrian Army Positions

The Syrian Army forces repelled ISIL’s heavy attack on their defense lines near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in Eastern Homs, inflicting a large number of casualties on the terrorists.

The army soldiers engaged in a tough battle with the ISIL terrorists that attacked their positions in Jabal (mount) al-Abtar near Palmyra and managed to ward off the terrorists’ offensive, killing a large number of them and destroying their military hardware.

Relevant repots said on Wednesday that the army troops continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines in Eastern Homs, forcing the terrorist group to retreat from vast regions Northeast of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur).

The army soldiers won another battle against ISIL and drove them out of a set of strategic hills near Mount al-Qataar 25km Northeast of Palmyra.

The ISIL suffered a number of casualties and its military hardware and vehicles sustained major damage in the attack.
