The terrorists of Faylaq Al-Rahman received a rude awakening on Sunday night when the Syrian Arab Army’s 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division unleashed a vicious assault on the east Damascus suburbs of Jobar and ‘Ayn Tarma.

Using surface-to-surface missiles, the Syrian Army pounded Faylaq Al-Rahman’s positions in ‘Ayn Tarma and Jobar for several hours, inflicting heavy damage on the latter’s defenses.

According to a military source in Damascus, the missile strikes could be heard from as far as the capital’s Mezzeh District, which is located in the west.

Following the missile strikes, the Syrian Arab Army launched a ground assault on the Al-Manasher District of Jobar, capturing several buildings under the cover of night.

The military source added that at least 20 militants have been killed and 40 more wounded inside the Jobar District over the last 24 hours, as heavy artillery and missiles flood the area.
