Palestinian protesters took to Ramallah streets, in the central West Bank, on Sunday evening in protest at Israel’s murder of the Qassam leader Mazen Fuqaha in Gaza.

The mass-rally kicked off from outside Al-Bireh’s Grand Mosque. The marchers chanted slogans expressing solidarity with the Palestinian resistance and calling for revenge.

The rally-goers lifted the Palestinian flag and Fuqaha’s photos along with banners urging Hamas to respond to such a heinous Israeli crime.

The marchers further spoke out against the security cooperation between the Palestinian Authority (PA), chaired by Mahmoud Abbas, and the Israeli occupation.

Sometime earlier, calls were launched by youth activists for a mass participation in popular rallies staged in protest at Israel’s assassination of Fuqaha.

Speaking during the rally, Islamic Jihad leader Khader Adnan called for an immediate response to the Israeli crime.

Fuqaha, a leader at al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, was fatally gunned down by anonymous assailants on Friday evening in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, in Gaza city.
