The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been on the move today, liberating several buildings from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the southern districts of Damascus.

Backed by several Palestinian groups, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard was able to control of more buildings inside the town of Hajar Al-Aswad, forcing the Islamic State to consolidate their defensive positions.

While the Syrian Army advances on the ground, the Russian Aerospace Forces have been relentlessly bombing the Yarmouk Camp, Hajar Al-Aswad, Al-Qadam, and Al-Tadamon in the hopes of forcing the Islamic State to surrender.

The Islamic State’s leadership in southern Damascus initially agreed to surrender their positions; however, a large number of their fighters refused to leave, vowing to fight until the death.
