A group of British women that have joined the ISIL Takfiri terror group in Syria are urging female targets in the UK to conduct terrorist attacks back home, a British paper reports.

Britain’s International Center for the Study of Radicalization (ICSR) at King’s College London has identified a group of nearly 30 British female Takfiris in northern Syria that are allegedly involved in inciting terrorism in the UK, the Observer reported.

According to the report, the monitoring of the women’s social media accounts by ICSR has indicated that some have been acting as ISIL recruiters or openly praising the Charlie Hebdo shootings, while “encouraging more bloodshed” including the “beheading of westerners.”

“British women tend to incite [attacks], they say to people that can’t move to the Islamic State (ISIL): ‘Why not carry out something at home?’ That’s a common message: if you can’t leave your family behind or afford to move to Syria then carry out something,” said ICSR research fellow Melanie Smith, who is in charge of what the institution boasts as the first known database of female foreign fighters.

The report goes on to say that until now, the Western women joining the ISIL have largely been depicted as passive and merely traveling to marry the Takfiri militants to bear their kids away from the battlefield.

However, as police across Britain prepare for potential attacks against them and with Europe on high alert after the arrest of suspected ISIL elements in Belgium, France and Germany, the ICSR’s work indicates that many female Takfiris are emerging as part of the mounting threat.
