International Syria Peace Pilgrims meet Iranian Deputy FM

International-Syria-Peace-Pilgrims-meet-Iranian-Deputy-FMVisiting members of International Syria Peace Pilgrims on Wednesday evening met and conferred in Tehran with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
According to IRNA, the group comprised of peace activists from various Asian and European countries include Iranians, and are carrying the message of peace and friendship, as well as humanitarian contributions and initiatives for the war-stricken Syrian people.
In their few day visit of Iran they are scheduled to meet some Iranian officials including the Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, after which they will soon head for Damascus.
In their meeting with Amir-Abdollahian the International Syria Peace Pilgrims appreciated Iranˈs humanitarian contributions forwarded for the Syrian nation.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister in the meeting appreciated the humanitarian initiative of the group and stressed the need for forwarding more humanitarian contributions for the Syrians and strengthening the peaceful and political solutions for the Syrian crisis.
He reminded them that Iran had always supported the regional and international political initiatives aimed at resolving the Syrian crisis, stressing that the people of that country are the final decision makers about their own future.
He said,ˈNo one can decide about the wise Syrian people from outside that country,ˈ The deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs said that terrorists from around the globe have gathered in Syria.
ˈAll countries are responsible today for contribution to combat terrorism today,ˈ he said, adding that terrorism has neither any place in Syrian, nor any place in this region today.
After holding formal meetings and participating in several public programs in the Iranian cities of Tehran, Isfahan and Qom, the peace activists will leave Iran for Syria to call for an end to the crisis in the war-torn country.
Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since 2011. According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
