Speaking at the Dental Conference held at the UNESCO Office in Beirut, Hujjat al-Islam Naim Qasim, the deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, said that the United States, the West and the former Soviet Union established and supported terrorism in the Middle East, said, “Instead of justice, balance and paying attention to the problems of nations, these countries have engaged in destruction, murder and sedition to dominate the fate of nations.”

According to Rasa, the Shi’ah Lebanese cleric noted that there are two types of terrorism – government and organizational terrorism and added, “State terrorism is embodied in American, French, British and Israeli terrorism and organizational terrorism includes Takfiri terrorism and all intelligence agencies that support terrorists such as the hypocritical People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MKO), who seek to advance through the path of destruction and murder.”

Referring to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, he said, “The great countries of the world have provided all the fields for the expansion of the culture of Wahhabism in the east and west in order to instigate the activities of terrorist groups, and this began in Afghanistan.”

Hujjat al-Islam Qasim pointed to the objectives of Takfiri, American, and Zionist terrorists and said, “Some of the enemies’ goals include: damaging the issue of Palestine, sometimes directly and sometimes by damaging the Arabs and conflicts between the countries of the region, hindering Iran to prevent the establishment of the Islamic Republic, including the Imposed War [Iran-Iraq War] and the prevention of the dissemination of authentic Islam based on intellectual, political, social and practical resources in order to spread Western ideas.”

He described the 2006 33-Day War in Lebanon as a dangerous and great war on behalf of the Zionist regime and noted, “The Islamic Resistance has been able to frustrate the new dangerous project in the region and bring about a major defeat to the Zionists. The enemies, who have been terribly frustrated by this breakthrough, have been attempting to achieve their goals through other means and, accordingly, launched the war against Syria in 2011, calling it the ‘new Mediterranean policy.’”

His Eminenceemphasizing that Hezbollah was aware of the plot on the first day and said, “We were present with power and at the appropriate time in Syria but we should not forget that all these problems came from the United States to protect the interests of the Zionist regime. The US established and supported Takfiri terrorists and also provided them with a large amount of facilities.”

Hujjat al-Islam Qasimemphasized that after Daesh’s failure to execute its plots, the Americans have claimed to be fighting this group in Mosul and Raqqah, but in other areas, they continue to support terrorists and has saved the al-Nusrah Front for other purposes.

The senior Hezbollah official stated, “We say to imperialist powers, you have repeatedly tested your chance to cope with the Resistance Axis, and you didn’t succeed. From now on, you won’t be able to succeed because we’re present on the scene with resolve and determination and we’re prepared for any war but at the same time, our positions are defensive, not aggressive, and we’re demanding the independence of our country and the liberation of our land.”

He said the Zionist regime and Takfiris are two sides of the same coin and added, “When we fight the Takfiris, we are actually at war with Israel and the liberation of the land from the terrorists means to fight against the Zionist enemies.”

Referring to some experts predicting that Lebanon would suffer from the Syrian crisis, Hujjat al-Islam Qasim stated, “Lebanon never suffered from this crisis and this was due to the presence of Hezbollah on the scene. Using the equation of the army, nation and resistance, Lebanon has been able to stand against the Takfiris and is a pioneer in serving Lebanese people. We have never considered the interests of foreigners and nobody can accuse us of being mercenaries.”
