The first ever US military base in Israel has been announced and is positioned in the south of the state.
The Israeli regime’s government have claimed that the newly placed military base is in response to the growing threat of Iran and to help keep the country more secure as the state fears growing Iranian presence in Syria.
General Zvika Haimovich, the commander of Israel’s aerial defense, said to the Associated Press that “it’s a message that says Israel is better prepared. It’s a message that says Israel is improving the response to threats,” Haimovich, the commander of Israel’s aerial defense.
The US historically has stationed troops inside of Israel but this is the first time a permanent base has been set up.
Israel claims it seeks to defend against the Iranian presence in Syria, yet moves to establish the base on the opposite side of the country.
