Field sources in Northwestern Syria reported that Ahrar al-Sham has started to retreat from its positions in Idlib province to pave the ground for the Turkish Army troops to cross into the Northern Syrian province.

The sources said that as the possibility grows for the Turkish military interference in Idlib, Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) attacked the towns of Saraqib, Sarmada, al-Dana, Harem and Salqin and imposed control over regions near Bab al-Hawa border crossing.

But now the same sources and news websites affiliated to the terrorist groups say that Ahrar al-Sham has started pulling back its forces to get rid of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at and to seed up Ankara’s military invasion of Idlib.

Relevant reports said on Thursday that Tahrir Al-Sham captured many towns in Idlib’s countryside, including Sahab, Barabo, Tall Hawash, Al-Hamirat, Tarmala and Al-Toba along a number of towns which militants seized from Ahrar al-Sham the day before.

Tahrir al-Sham also took control over Salqin town, al-Dana town and the Sharia court building on its outskirts on Wednesday after dislodging Ahrar Al-Sham from the region.

Terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham also captured the city of Saraqib in Southern Idlib after heavy clashes with Ahrar Al-Sham which resulted in arresting of three top commanders.

Based on the reports, over 50 militants from both warring sides have been killed in the last 3 day and over 100 have been injured.

A large number of Ahrar al-Sham and Tahrir al-Sham have been arrested too.

Meanwhile, Ahrar Al-Sham called on reinforcements from Turkey to help beat back Tahrir al-Sham’s crackdown in Idlib province, while two Ahrar Al-Sham branches — the Al-Hujra Brigade and Fajr Al-Islam Brigade — announced the groups had defected to Tahrir al-Sham.

Relevant reports said on Thursday that intensified clashes between Ahrar al-Sham and Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at in Southern Idlib resulted in the latter’s control over several towns and villages on Thursday.

The clashes erupted in the towns of Saraqib, Sarmada, Khan al-Sobol, Ariha, Salqin, Abli and Kalki, leaving tens of terrorists dead and wounded from both sides.

According to reports, Tahrir al-Sham took control of the villages and towns of Harem, Azmarin, al-Dana, al-Habit and al-Amar and the Sraqib silos.

After the development, Ahrar al-Sham attacked the town of Hazarin, occupied by Tahrir al-Sham on Wednesday, by tanks.

Meantime, during the clashes, the main roads of Idlib province were closed and the civilians in the region were strongly scared.
