Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Forum denounces Bahrain crackdown

Following the intensification of illegal measures by Al Kalifa against the people and the elites, Iran’s Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Forum has issued a message referring to Declaration of Human Rights, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (UNIC), and Bahrain constitution, Al Kalifa oppressive measures to silence the prayer leaders and stripping citizens and also leaders of peaceful movements are absolutely illegal, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Forum in its message has stressed that the illegal measures by Al Kalifa is in contrast with human rights, international laws and also Islamic values demanding world governments and liberal movements to prevent a catastrophe in Bahrain.

Part of this statement calls Bahraini government to withdraw from its illegal decisions stressing that this determination by Al Kalifa will lead to a sectarian intrigue which contrasts security of the country.

Iranian center has also quoted paragraphs of world human rights charter and International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which bans exile and deprivation of people from nationality.

Bahrain government has recently banned the Friday prayer leader of Diraz from the weekly ceremony, a move which has sparked the people to hold demonstration in the streets.

The move has followed other anti-Shia measures including stripping renowned cleric, Sheikh Isa Qassim, of Bahrain citizenship and dissolution of major dissent movement, Al Wefaq.
